 MOTHERSHIP LAUNCHFebruary 17, 2010Today, Mothership officially Launched! 'Mothership is the brainchild of Ed Ulbrich, Digital Domain’s President of its Commercial Division and Corporate Executive Vice President since the company’s birth. The idea is to gather visionary filmmakers and turbo-charge their talent using Mothership’s resources - the same resources enjoyed by sister company Digital Domain (which they’ve used to win a mantel full of Oscars). Mothership is launching with talent including Robert Hales, Dael Oates, David Rosenbaum, Sil van der Woerd, Brent Bonacorso, Pierre Michel, Matthew Santoro, and Happycamper.  MAKING OF WHITE SWANJanuary 28, 2010About a year ago, the making of Worms was released by the Gnomon Workshop, industry leader in professional training for artists in the entertainment and design industries. Soon after, I was invited by Alex Alvarez, Director of Gnomon, to do my next music video in collaboration with students of Gnomon, School of Visual Effects. I had a great time and you might have seen the result. Now I am very excited to announce that the official making of White Swan is finally available! For this DVDset I invited over 10 people of my post production crew. Together, we give over 17 hours of tutorials on modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, particles, compositing, etc, etc. ...the list is long. Follow this link to see for yourself! |
 WHITE SWAN PREVIEW CLIPJanuary 18, 2010Even though the preview of White Swan was 6 months ago, the video registration of the event was only now released online andyou can watch it here (pt 1) and here (pt 2)! It has 2 chapters. In The first chapter I present the pre production and production process. In the second chapter, 4 of my crew members and I discuss the post production process. At the time of the event I was awake for almost 48 hours, which is why I look very tired. Nonetheless it was a great night and it's nice to finally share it with the world here. Thanks to Gnomon, School of Visual Effects, for making the video. |

 DIGITAL DOMAINNovember 11, 2009I just landed my new position at Digital Domain! I now live and work in Venice, Los Angeles, just half a block from the ocean. Digital Domain is a very well known post production company, in fact, they won the Oscar for best Visual Effects for Benjamin Button in 2009.  INS & OUTSOctober 01, 2009Here's a fresh blend of what's been going on lately; White Swan won the 2nd prize in the Dutch Music Video competition at the Shoot Me Film Festival in the Hague, the Netherlands. The September issue of Shots Magazine featured an interview and included a DVD with some of my work. The August edition of CG Magazine China also featured an interview and DVD. Meanwhile White Swan hit festivals in London, Amsterdam, New York and Los Angeles and gathered over 250.000 views online. |
 MADE IN ARNHEMSeptember 12, 2009Made In Arnhem is an art festival organized every other year in Arnhem, the Netherlands. For the arthouse theater I selected a film program and gave a presentation & master class. Additionally, White Swan and some props are exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art as part of the exhibition: Today it's me. |

 MAKING OF WORMSNovember 10, 2008With a library of 200+ training DVDs featuring 60 professional instructors, Gnomon Workshop is the industry leader in professional training for artists in the entertainment and design industries. A while ago, I was invited by Alex Alvarez, founder of Gnomon, to record a making of and shot breakdown of Worms at Gnomon workshop, in Hollywood. This resulted in 10 hours of footage covering the entire production and post production of Worms. Now the very special 4-disc set is finally released! It's presented in a gorgeous packaging.  SENSATION WHITE TRAILERAugust 26, 2008After the underwater sequence I did for the Music Video Worms, I was approached by Sensation - the world's leading dance event held every year in the Amsterdam Arena. For their 2008 underwater theme I directed and executes a serie of dreamy underwater shots. The footage played on the festival July 5th, and will now play on the international versions of the festival world wide. The footage has been edited in to a special trailer to promote the international shows. The trailer here announces the prague editio. I'd like to mention that I only supplied underwater footage and am not responsible for the trailer edit or concept. |
